Transparent finish that highlights the wood grain
One of the main attractions of the RK series is the beauty of the shape of its cabinet, which has a decidedly unconventional appearance when compared to that of keyboards, in fact the material it is made of and its design are inspired more by the world of guitarists, with an undoubted and timeless charm. On the RK-100S 2 this attention to detail has been further developed, and now the instrument has a finish that highlights the grain of the real natural wood used for its construction, and for this reason each unit has different grain, which makes it practically unique. Even the care put into the finishing is much more similar to the lutherie of guitars than that typical of electronic instruments, an element that increases the particular character of the instrument.

New Programs especially effective for solos
The internal Programs of the RK-100S 2 have been significantly expanded, with a special focus on Lead Synth sounds or other solo sounds that make the musician stand out. Many sounds frequently used in the current music scene have been included, with 200 ready-to-use Presets capable of satisfying all genres and styles. The overall sound of the instrument is dynamic and present, all Presets are immediately accessible during a Live Performance thanks to the dedicated FAVORITE buttons on the top panel, the performer can also benefit from the help of a versatile arpeggiator equipped with numerous Patterns.

The RK-100S 2 uses a 37-note Slim keyboard, designed without compromise to achieve maximum playability and keep the instrument's weight and size to a minimum.
Two ribbon controllers expand the executive potential
The RK-100S 2 has two ribbon controls: Ribbon Controller, which allow you to modify some sound parameters in real time. The shorter Ribbon located in the neck area controls the Pitch Bend and modulation, the longer one located in the keyboard area controls the Pitch or Filter. In this way, the performer can create, for example, Sweeps of these parameters according to their inspiration, or the musical needs of the moment. With the long Ribbon, it is also possible to control the pitch of the sounds as an alternative to the keyboard, with considerable space therefore for experimentation or unconventional Performances.
Long-lasting battery operation
The RK-100S 2 can be powered by six AA batteries, which provide up to 8 hours of continuous operation. Once powered, simply connect the instrument to headphones or a listening system and you can immediately start playing without having to worry about power cables, very useful and efficient on a live stage. Of course, if necessary, you can also use an AC adapter (optional).
Vocoder function
The Mini Jack input (mono) allows the connection of a microphone to use the typical and characteristic synthetic and vocal sound of the Vocoder, able to further characterize a live performance. The input can also be used to connect an external sound source such as a smartphone, to be used as a Player for the musical bases.
MIDI Control Functions
The RK-100S 2 is not limited to playing the internal sounds, it is also equipped with a MIDI OUT jack and a USB port, allowing it to be used as a controller for external units such as hardware sound modules, or virtual instruments on a computer. A PC editor is also available, downloadable for free from the KORG website, which allows refined and complete control over all the parameters of the RK-100S sound engine.
