Include 2 ingressi Hi-Z per collegare direttamente chitarre e bassi, 6 ingressi di linea e 10 uscite Jack TRS bilanciate. La connettività avanzata comprende anche 2 porte ADAT (fino a 16 canali digitali aggiuntivi), S/PDIF per trasferimenti digitali e MIDI per integrare controller e strumenti MIDI.
Tra le caratteristiche distintive, la funzione Auto Gain consente una regolazione automatica del livello di registrazione per ciascun ingresso, semplificando notevolmente il set-up anche nelle sessioni più complesse. La tecnologia Clip Safe, attiva fino a 96.000 volte al secondo, evita distorsioni regolando automaticamente il guadagno in tempo reale. Queste funzioni assicurano una registrazione pulita e priva di errori, ideale per ambienti di lavoro dinamici e in tempo reale.
Per il monitoraggio, la Scarlett 18i20 offre due uscite cuffie con amplificatori personalizzati, in grado di pilotare anche cuffie ad alta impedenza. È dotata di uno switch A/B per ascoltare su due coppie di monitor diversi e include un microfono talkback integrato per comunicare facilmente con la sala di ripresa. I meter LED forniscono un feedback visivo preciso sui livelli degli ingressi e delle uscite, permettendo un controllo totale durante il mixaggio.
La modalità Air, riprogettata per questa generazione, aggiunge brillantezza e presenza alle registrazioni vocali e acustiche, ricreando il suono classico delle console analogiche di alta fascia. Inoltre, il software di controllo Focusrite Control 2, disponibile per desktop, iOS e Android, permette di gestire da remoto i livelli di monitoraggio e il routing dell'interfaccia, migliorando la flessibilità e la produttività in studio.
