After speaking with John early in the recording sessions for Dream Theater's latest album, John wanted to dig deeper into his tone with Ashdown ; he had been using ABM-600 amps for some time and wanted something that would strengthen the relationship, and having never made a signature pedal for him before, the best option would be to produce something worthy of a player of such caliber.
Digging deeper with his engineer and Dream Theater crew chief Maddi, Ashdown got an idea of what was needed to match his amps and instruments: his signature 6-string Music Man Bongo has a unique tonal quality, and the distortion in his bass therefore requires a strong gain structure to replicate a wide range of frequencies.
John said this about his signature Double Drive:

The pedal features two individual distortions that can be layered to achieve new levels of gain. An isolated Di transformer for use with FOH or DAW interfaces, constructed from 1.6mm Zintec with a 0.9mm alloy top panel, ensures the pedal is built to last. A dual VU meter adorns the top of the pedal and records the pedal’s input and output signals to ensure proper gain structure base on the input source.

The shipping within Italy is FREE for orders with a minimum amount of €149. For international shipments, costs vary depending on the country and the total weight of the products.
