It is a condenser microphone with a switchable polar pattern between cardioid and omnidirectional, without the use of electronics or the need to remove a capsule. Designed to handle the high sound pressure levels of percussion instruments while still being able to capture the nuances of an acoustic guitar, the KSM141 has a three-position switch for 0dB, 15dB and 25dB attenuation. It has low self-noise (14dB) and a wide frequency response. The low-frequency filter features a three-position switch for controlling background noise and proximity effect. The transformerless, Class A preamp circuit eliminates crossover distortion and odd-tone harmonics to provide incredible linearity across the entire frequency range. Complete with a carrying case, rugged stand and Popper StopperTM windscreen, the KSM141 provides the ultimate studio recording experience.
