Il pianoforte digitale Yamaha il P-225 offre un design del corpo molto più corto e sottile con uno stile compatto. Questo modello ha un bell'aspetto da qualsiasi angolazione lo si osservi e si adatta bene a qualsiasi ambiente. Per ottenere uno chassis del prodotto più piccolo, è stata sviluppato la nuova tastiera 88 tasti GHC (Graded Hammer Compact), che è costruita secondo standard senza compromessi e offre la stessa sensazione di suonare un pianoforte acustico con tasti pesati della tastiera GHS (Graded Hammer Standard) utilizzata nei modelli precedenti della Serie P.

Il P-225 offre i suoni del miglior pianoforte a coda da concerto Yamaha, il CFX, e questo modello utilizza la tecnologia Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) Lite che riproduce realisticamente i complessi cambi tonali prodotti momento per momento dalle corde di un pianoforte a coda.
