Yamaha ’s Virtual Resonance Modeling Lite (VRM Lite) simulates the sympathetic resonances you would experience in a grand piano, as the sound of the strings reverberates throughout the entire instrument. The YDP 165 also features an escapement structure on the back of the cabinet. This propagates sound from the speakers through the physical piano, recreating the sound radiation and three-dimensional resonance you would experience with an acoustic instrument.
Intelligent Acoustic Control (IAC) provides full, balanced sound with rich bass and clear highs even at low volumes. When playing at low volumes, it is often difficult to hear the bass and highs with all the usual details. Yamaha 's IAC function automatically adjusts the sound while the volume control makes fine adjustments to the speaker system, ensuring that you always enjoy the highest sound quality even at low volumes.
A great feature of digital pianos is the ability to practice silently using headphones. The YDP 165 has fulfilled this requirement with the Stereo Optimizer.
