Korg microKEY is small, lightweight, USB-powered, and compatible with all your computer music software applications. It's the perfect choice for controlling your computer music software, whether you're producing music or performing live. The microKEY series features a velocity-sensitive keyboard with the same Natural Touch feel as the microKorg XL and microSTATION. Designed with a focus on touch and response, the keyboard is small but still offers excellent playability when playing chords, slides, and fast melodic phrases, thanks to a ratio of black and white keys that has been specifically designed for this purpose. Pitch bend and modulation controls are also available. The 37- and 61-key microKEY models also function as a USB hub, with two USB ports (Type A) that let you connect a Korg nano PAD, nanoKONTROL, or any other USB device to extend your control options. The 25-key model can be connected directly to the iPad via Apple 's Camera Connection Kit, to play various music applications that support MIDI control (Core MIDI), such as Korg 's iMS-20. As for the 37- and 61-key models, you will need to use a powered USB hub when you want to play MIDI apps on the iPad. The 61-key version is perfect for the musician who performs live, as it offers a full 5 octaves in a keyboard that takes up the same space as a classic 49-key.
Using the KORG KONTROL Editor software, you can program the various settings for the 3 models, selecting one of the 8 dynamic response curves of the key, or the number of control changes and the maximum and minimum value of the same that can be sent via the modulation wheel, or the joystick.
The software package that can be downloaded from the Korguser.net website after registration is extensive. In particular, for the microKey 61 we find all the complete licenses for the virtual synthesizers of the Korg Legacy Collection, which includes the virtual version of the historic MS-20 analog synth, the Polysix polyphonic synthesizer, the Mono/Poly analog synthesizer, the software versions of the M1 and Wavestation digital synthesizers, and the MDE-X effects plug-in.
With the other two models in the series, 25 and 37 keys, the code for the LE version of the M1 is supplied. In the packages of the entire series you will also find the codes for other software in demo or LE version, as well as a discount coupon for the purchase of Ableton Live.
