The S2 Custom 24-08 is the electric guitar of the S2 series by PRS , with a 24-fret fingerboard and two TCI pickups made in the USA with 8 different possible configurations. Thanks to the two mini-toggle coil split switches it is possible to split the signal of the two humbuckers. It has a Maple top and a Mahogany body. Black Amber color.

OVERVIEW OF THE PRS S2 CUSTOM 24-08 BLACK AMBER

The S2 Custom 24-08 shares many of the same features as the S2 Custom 24, but adds a new level of versatility with an intuitive switching system. The guitar’s platform utilizes the classic combination of a maple top and Pattern Thin mahogany body and neck. The rosewood fingerboard features 24 frets and Birds inlays, with a 25" scale length. For the first time in the S2 Series, the 2024 S2 features USA-made TCI pickups, with a slightly rounded profile, paired with a 3-way toggle switch and two mini-toggle coil splits that split the two humbuckers individually, offering up to 8 different tonal configurations.

S2 stands for "Stevensville 2," the name given to a second production line in the PRS factory in Stevensville, Maryland. This department was dedicated to producing revamped instruments to reach a more accessible price point for musicians. Today, the S2 Series is fully integrated into the same Maryland production facilities as the Core and Bolt-On Series. What makes the S2 Series guitars more economical in terms of materials are the smaller, less figured maple tops used than those selected for the Core Series. The neck tops are also smaller, thanks to the Scarfed construction. This process, combined with pre-set radius and pre-fretted fingerboards, is efficient and creates durable, comfortable necks. The finishing process on the S2 guitars is also more streamlined, and the electronics hidden behind the pickguard make assembly quicker. Finally, the included nylon gig bag is less expensive than a hard case but protects the instrument perfectly. All this allows us to offer the S2 line guitars at a more accessible price.
