Korg Kaossilator PRO+ è una versione aggiornata dell’hardware Kaossilator PRO, che si allinea alle direttive ERP (Energy Related Product) le quali richiedono l’implementazione dello stand-by automatizzato in caso di inutilizzo prolungato del prodotto. Questa funzione, eventualmente disattivabile dall’utente, fa si che il prodotto si spenga in automatico dopo circa 5 ore di inutilizzo: nessun segnale in ingresso. Con l’occasione Korg ha incrementato il numero di preset disponibili portandoli a 250, di cui 65 completamente nuovi, tra i quali ne sono compresi ben 25 dedicati a suoni e pattern di batteria elettronica. Migliorata anche l’interoperabilità con il “fratellino” Kaossilator 2, con il quale è possibile condividere (importare/esportare) i loop generati, mantenendone le impostazioni di BPM. Supportate le Card SDHC. 250 sono i program disponibili nel KAOSSILATOR PRO+: 40 suoni lead, 15 acustici, 40 di basso, 40 chord, 30 di effetti speciali, 15 vocoder, 40 pattern di batteria e 30 preset di drum kit. Grazie alle 8 memorie, ognuna assegnabile ad un tasto dedicato, potrai salvare e richiamare al volo durante le tue performance gli 8 Program preferiti.
KAOSSILATOR PRO+ vi permette di riprodurre i suoni in esso contenuti mediante il touch PAD, il quale emula una tastiera ed è programmabile per coprire tutto il range di note, oppure un’unica ottava: offrendo così una maggior precisione durante le performance live, o in studio. Potremo impostare fino a 31 scale differenti, ognuna suonabile in qualsiasi tonalità. Utilizzando il fader posto alla sinistra del pad, potremo accedere all’impostazione dell’arpeggiatore integrato (derivato dalla celebre serie Electribe by Korg), per variarne dinamicamente la risoluzione e il tempo di GATE. Le frasi musicali riprodotte con il Kaossilator PRO+ sono registrabili e riproducibili sottoforma di Loop. 4 sono le memorie, da 4 misure ciascuna, nelle quali potremo salvare i nostri Loop. Il tutto rigorosamente in tempo reale, come da tradizione Kaoss Pad. Ognuno di questi 4 Loop è riproducibile premendo uno dei 4 quattro tasti dedicati posti sotto il touch pad, consentendo quindi la riproduzione simultanea di 4 loop, in contemporanea a ciò che stiamo suonando nel pad. Questi Loop possono inoltre ospitare l’audio registrato da sorgenti esterne, sul quale potrai eventualmente applicare anche l’effetto VOCODER.
E se tutto questo non bastasse, il punto di forza del Kaossilator PRO+ è la capacità di interfacciamento con altri strumenti esterni attraverso la porta USB e le porte MIDI In e Out. La porta USB funziona sia come interfacciamento MIDI diretto con il computer per suonare dal Kaossilator PRO+ i suoni dei virtual instruments, sia per dialogare con l’editor/librarian software dedicato. Tramite l’editor software potremo anche accedere alla SD Card (supportate anche le SDHC), per trasferire sull’HD del computer i Loop registrati nel Kaossilator PRO+. Il touch pad invia verso la porta MIDI Out (e USB) le melodie che suoniamo sull’asse X-Y, consentendoci così di suonare synth esterni hardware e virtual instruments software. La retro illuminazione led del touch pad fornisce un importante feedback visivo durante le performance. L’editor/librarian software è scaricabile gratuitamente da tutti gli utenti Kaossilator PRO+.
