Radial SB-1 Acoustic is a high-performance active direct box designed for musicians on the go. Designed to fit inside a guitar case, the SB-1 is the smallest DI box Radial has ever made! Don’t let the size put you off… this ultra-compact StageBug sounds absolutely fantastic!
The device features a standard ¼” instrument input and a thru-put output to power your tuner or amplifier on stage. The ultra-quiet active circuitry instantly converts the signal from high to low impedance, reducing susceptibility to noise. The signal is then buffered and balanced for long-distance transfer to the PA. 48 volt phantom power provides the power needed for operation: the SB-1 requires no batteries or external power. Simply connect your instrument to the device and the PA and you’re ready to play!
The active circuit features a carefully selected 800k ohm input impedance to eliminate loading issues while delivering a crisp, clear sound to your sound system. This provides extra top-end sparkle when interfaced with vintage guitars that have low-output pickups, and is especially useful when using for recording or reamping. The SB-1 also features a -15dB pad that reduces input sensitivity, properly handling even the most powerful active instruments, making the SB-1 perfectly suited for electric basses and keyboards. To reduce feedback, you can engage the 180° polarity switch, which helps eliminate hot spots on stage that could cause low-frequency resonance.
