The Soundgear Bass, with its sleek, smooth body and super comfortable slim neck, has been a favorite of progressive bassists for nearly 3 decades. The latest evolution of this iconic instrument is the introduction of the new PowerSpan Dual Coil (PDC) pickups and the new 3-band EQ with Power Tap switch. The feel and look are the same, but the sound brings this classic instrument into a new era. Ibanez is now proud to announce major updates to the SR300 series.
PowerSpan dual-coil pickups with exposed pole pieces deliver a stronger signal and increase the response of the highest frequencies without compromising the lowest frequencies. The result is a sound rich in harmonic detail and dynamic expression.
The 3-band EQ works in conjunction with a coil tap switch for maximum control over a wide range of professional bass tones. Tap mode (single coil) produces a punchy, dynamic sound with superior articulation. Series mode (humbucking) offers a full, warm tone, while Power Tap mode offers the best of both worlds - combining the clarity of a single coil with the fat bottom end of a humbucker.
Along with the new and improved tonal characteristics, the great SR Series staples have been retained: Mahogany body for the SR300E and maple body for the SR370E, 5-piece SR maple/rosewood neck, Accu-Cast B120 bridge. All these specifications combine to create a truly impressive bass.
