The story
The bass has its roots in classical music, in fact to study its history it will be necessary to study the history of the double bass used for over five hundred years of music. In fact from 1500 onwards this wonderful instrument makes its appearance in Italy. One of the first requests in orchestral formations dates back to 1562/63 in the opera "Le nozze di Cana" by Veronese and subsequently also requested by Monteverdi in 1608.
The bass as we know it today was born from the need to use an instrument of small dimensions, usable in even small venues. To meet these demands, the legendary Leo Fender in 1951 gave birth to a new concept electric bass, calling it precision , because of the frets that divided the different sounds with maximum precision.
Many internationally renowned artists brought the use of this instrument to a level never known before, let's remember some of the most important names: Stanley Clarke, Jaco Pastorius Marcus Miller , John Pattitucci, Jimmy Haslip etc.
