Alesis STRATA PRIME KIT

The Alesis Strata Prime Kit is an electronic drum kit consisting of six dual-zone mesh drums, three triple-zone ARC cymbals, and an ultra-responsive 14" magnetic sensor hi-hat. The new “Prime” module, with BFD3 sound engine, manages the drum kit via a 10.1” touchscreen panel, 128 GB of built-in memory, 40 GB of preloaded content, 75 drum kits and more than 440 customizable samples with 1092 sound articulations.

Drumkit

Strata Prime consists of six mesh-head drums:

14" dual-zone snare drum with independent head-activated sounds, rimstick and rimshot
8", 10", 12", 14" dual zone toms
20" bass drum that provides a comfortable playing surface suitable for all varieties of single and double bass drum pedals on the market.

The head tension can be adjusted on all six drums using a standard acoustic drum tension system, so you can dial in any level of rebound and sensitivity to base your preferences. Hotspots on the heads are eliminated by Alesis’ exclusive, patented anti-hotspot sensor.

Dishes

Strata Prime ARC cymbals are extremely sensitive with a finely turned surface. All three cymbals, the 18" ride and two 16" crashes, are triple-zone, with different sounds activated on the bell, body and edge of each cymbal. They are all 360 degrees playable and mount on standard acoustic cymbal stands, allowing for natural swinging and playing. The crash, ride and hi-hat cymbals feature sensors and dual-edge profiles that allow for incredible expression without having to change your technique.

Hi-Hat

The 14" hi-hat is the world's first Active Magnetic controller mounted on a standard hi- asta . Like the cymbals, it has a 360-degree, triple-zone playing surface that is extremely sensitive. Magnetic position detection ensures that pedal movements are translated with ultra-high precision and responsiveness. The controller can be used with a wide variety of hi-hat stands and playing techniques. Its active technology is powered and controlled directly by the Prime Drum module, with no additional power supply required.

Module

The Prime Drum Module is without a doubt the most technologically advanced drum module ever made. At the heart of this drumkit is the legendary BFD3 sound engine controlled by a 10.1" touchscreen panel that offers intuitive navigation, editing, kit mixing, and studio-level sound recording previously only available or workable on a computer, outside of the drum kit itself.
The touch screen puts all the parameters at your fingertips, so you can call up and adjust every kit component, sound, effect and utility with ease and difficulty. There are also six knobs for fast scrolling and detailed control, as well as a master push encoder, transport controls and dedicated volume knobs for the master, headphone and aux outputs.
Beneath the touch screen pad is a powerful multi-core processor that loads large, multi-sampled kits in seconds and allows drummers to customize kits with over 1,092 articulations, mic systems, and effects. While the Strata Prime is playable right out of the box, the new trigger engine is customizable, with several tools to tailor the kit to specific preferences, including instant crosstalk calibration.

Hardware

The Strata Prime is built around a double-braced steel rack that mounts the toms, cymbals, and module. It’s extremely sturdy yet adjustable, allowing for spacious or compact setups so you can set up the kit in the position you want it to be. The kit is designed to integrate with standard acoustic drum hardware so you can bring along the pedals you’re used to playing with. The hi-hat controller is compatible with any acoustic hi-hat asta , the bass drum can accommodate any single or double bass drum pedal, and all cymbals can also be mounted on conventional cymbal stands (for optional add-on cymbals).

Sounds

The multi-core processor powers the legendary BFD3 sound engine. This is a huge library of drum kits sampled by top sound engineers in some of the world's most sought-after and unique recording studios. With over 40 GB of content, 75 kits, over 440 drumkit pieces, over 1,000 sound articulations and over 215,000 individual samples, you can create endless mixes, apply effects to individual pieces of each kit, groups and even individual microphones.
The Strata Prime has 40 playable zones, trigger zones that can be assigned multiple sounds: a main sound plus three additional "Layers" per zone. You can layer multiple sounds and create a mashup of completely different sound combinations, such as adding a cymbal and cowbell to the edge of your snare.

In addition to the 75 factory kits, Strata Prime includes four sound libraries:

“Alesis Prime Acoustic”; a huge collection of drum sounds recorded at Powerstation Studios in New England;
“BFD Dark Farm”; expansion pack entirely oriented towards the Metal genre by the BFD team;
“Alesis Prime Electronic”; the best of the Alesis Strike Multipad’s one-shot electronic drum sounds, ideal for overlayering multiple acoustic drum samples;
“BFD Percussion”, a diverse collection of percussion sounds from BFD’s classic percussion packs.
